A ribbon cutting was held on March 5 for Revival Massage Therapy, a new local massage therapy practice owned and operated by Melissa Kanouff. The public was invited to the ribbon cutting, which featured refreshments, a giveaway, and speeches from Kanouff and Kosciusko Attala Partnership Director Mary Katherine Dean. Kanouff considered the ribbon cutting a success and appreciated the community turnout. “Everyone is so welcoming here. Kosciusko Attala Partnership and the ladies there are very welcoming. I feel like I’ve known them a lot longer than I have,” said Kanouff. She and her husband recently moved to Kosciusko from Louisiana. “Kosciusko just had a certain charm to it, and it was quiet and family-oriented, that’s what made us feel comfortable. And our neighbors on our road are fantastic.”
Kanouff is a licensed massage therapist and has over 25 years of experience in massage therapy. Her inspiration behind starting Revival Massage Therapy was a holistic approach to helping people and providing massage therapy to local veterans. “When I found out that the veterans in this area did not have massage therapy in over a fifty mile radius, that broke my heart. I knew I needed to get a practice open.” In addition to ensuring the local veterans have access to massage therapy, her goal for Revival Massage Therapy is to provide affordable holistic treatment the people in the community. “I’m just trying to help as many people as I can with preventative care and maintenance,” said Kanouff.
